A hundred thousand welcomes (ceud mìle fàilte) to Invercharron Highland Games!

Traditionally the final games of the year, many of the Scottish Highland Games Association league results are decided at Invercharron, making it one of the most exciting of the season. Heavy events, piping competitions, Highland dancing, track and field, hill and children’s races, tug o’ war and cycling all feature in this fun-packed day, with a variety of stalls and amusements.  There is something for everyone, a real traditional family day out.

It is with severe regret that  the Invercharron Highland Games has had to be cancelled this year.  The farmer, whose field we use, has had major issues with providing enough grazing and growing enough fodder for his animals because of the exceptionally dry weather we have had.  The crops are growing too slowly and as a result are only 60% of what they should be at this time.  Sadly therefore, he will not be able to allow us use of the field this year.   There is not enough time for us to find another field nor apply for a new Public Entertainment licence, which is venue specific and takes a number of weeks to apply for.  So we have no alternative other than to cancel this year sadly.  We will announce information about the 2019 games as soon as possible.

Set in the uniquely beautiful Kyle of Sutherland and on the North Coast 500 Route, the Invercharron Highland Games makes a wonderful place to visit whether you are a local, national or international visitor.  In 2017 we were pleased to welcome visitors from over 23 countries.
